Nigeria-USA Chamber of Commerce Announces 16th Annual International Trade Summit in Cleveland
CLEVELAND, OH — The Nigeria-USA Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC) has officially announced its 16th Annual International Trade Summit, set to take place on Friday, December 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST at The Aviator in Cleveland, Ohio.
This year’s summit centers on the theme “Cultivating Bilateral Prosperity: Driving U.S.–Nigeria Agribusiness, Technology Export, and Sustainable Food Systems.” The premier event aims to bolster two-way agricultural commerce, expand machinery exports, and deepen supply chain collaboration between the United States and Nigeria, spotlighting Ohio’s key role in agricultural manufacturing and export.
Strengthening U.S.–Nigeria Economic Ties
With total bilateral trade between the U.S. and Nigeria surpassing $11.8 billion, agricultural exports form a vital pillar of the trade partnership. U.S. agricultural exports to Nigeria exceed $620 million annually, driven by key commodities such as wheat, coarse grains, and food products.
The 2026 summit serves as a high-level strategic forum connecting agribusiness executives, equipment manufacturers, policymakers, trade diplomats, and diaspora investors.
Key Pillars of the 2026 Summit
-
Agricultural Equipment & Technology Exports: Accelerating exports of Ohio-manufactured farming machinery, harvesting equipment, precision agriculture technology, and grain storage solutions to support Nigeria’s growing agricultural sector.
-
Bilateral Commodity Trade: Expanding export pathways for U.S. staple crops (wheat, corn, soybeans) while facilitating reciprocal duty-free access for high-value Nigerian non-oil exports, including cocoa, cashew, sesame, and spices.
-
Leveraging Trade Frameworks & Programs: Utilizing key bilateral mechanisms such as the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), Prosper Africa, and USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) tools to unlock trade financing and market entry.
-
State & Federal Alignment: Connecting local state initiatives—including Ohio Department of Development and Ohio Department of Agriculture programs—with national trade strategies.
