BYLAWS

NUSACC's bylaws are the guiding principles by which NUSACC operates. The board of directors formulated NUSACC's operating policies for the management team to implement under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (CEO). NUSACC will implement policies as spelled out by tasks through committees in accordance with the provisions of its bylaws.

BYLAWS OF THE NIGERIA USA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE [NUSACC]

ARTICLE I
NAME, MISSION, OBJECTIVES AND GUIDING PHILOSOPHY/VALUES

Section 1.1 Name: The name of the organization shall be The NigeriaUSA Chamber of Commerce [NUSACC]

Section 1.2: Mission: The mission of the NUSACC is to create an enabling environment for promoting cordial business relationships between businesses in Nigeria and the United States. The NUSACC will accomplish this by creating a forum for the exchange of information and ideas about trade, business and investment opportunities in both Nigeria and the United States.

Section 1.3: Objectives: The NUSACC shall pursue the following objectives:

1. Training/Educational Objectives

  •  To provide accurate and relevant information about trade, investment and business opportunities to individuals and businesses that are interested in
    investing in Nigeria and the United States.
  •  To organize regular business seminars, symposiums, and workshops on trade, business and investment opportunities in Nigeria and the United States.
  • To organize trade fairs and exhibitions to showcase Nigerian and American products and expose potential investors to trade, business and investment
    opportunities in both countries.
  • To work assiduously to correct the uncomplimentary perception of Nigeria and Nigerians within the international community as a country and a people
    who lack trust, honesty, transparency, and accountability.

2. Networking Objectives

  • To create a forum for members of the Chamber to network among themselves and share information about trade, business and investment opportunities in
    Nigeria and the United States.
  • To facilitate and coordinate the pooling of resources for Nigerian residents in the United States who are interested in setting up businesses in Nigeria.
  • To organize trade missions and trips as needed for businessmen and women who are interested in exploring trade, business and investment opportunities in both Nigeria and the United States.
  • To represent the interests of Nigerian and American states, cities, and municipalities that desire to have a business presence in both countries, but
    are presently constrained in operating a fully functioning trade office.

Advocacy Objectives

  • To advocate for favorable business-specific policies for members as well as further the strategic interests of the NUSACC.
  • To monitor political and economic developments and trends in both Nigeria and the United States (especially, with regard to trade, business and
    investment climate) as they affect the strategic interests of the NUSACC.

Section 1.4: Guiding Philosophy and Values

At all times, the activities of the NUSACC shall be guided by the following core values:

TRANSPARENCY: The NUSACC is committed to operating in an open and transparent manner in all its business undertakings and dealings with others. In
recognizing the ethical imperative of transparency as the driving force behind accountability, the NUSACC pledges that at all times, its activities and operations will be open to public scrutiny and verification.

INTEGRITY: The NUSACC understands the unique and often difficult environment in which businesses operate in Nigeria, and the perception in the international community that many business people in Nigeria are less than honest in their dealings. Cognizant of this reality, the NUSACC affirms that it will only associate itself with businessmen and women of unimpeachable character and integrity. The NUSACC further affirms that it will disavow all forms of sharp and corrupt practices in its business dealings with its members and the public.

TRUST: The NUSACC believes that business can be conducted in an environment of mutual trust and goodwill. The NUSACC strongly believes that business dealings need not be shrouded in secrecy and distrust, and can be carried out in an atmosphere of trust, respect, equity and fairness.

EXCELLENCE: The NUSACC is committed to building excellence in its business seminars, workshops and exhibitions. It is committed to providing the most current and accurate information about trade, business and investment opportunities in Nigeria and the United States to its members.

INNOVATION: The NUSACC is committed to fostering a spirit of creativity and innovative risk-taking among its members. It firmly believes that with the right skill sets, accurate investment information, quality networking, and strategic partnerships and matching, members of the NUSACC can overcome the fears associated with investing in Nigeria.
